| Description: | This leadership position is part of a newly created division which will become the future Center of Excellence for audio and video expertise to support various Harman products.
You will be responsible for designing, developing, modifying and evaluating electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and systems hardware which will focus on home theatre systems.

| Duties: | 1. Provides significant technical leadership, expertise, and mentoring to others in the department.
2. Performs functional and empirical analysis related to designing, developing, and implementing hardware for the company’s products.
3. Determines design approaches and parameters using advanced methods and techniques in one or more specialties.
4. Knows and applies advanced state-of-the-art engineering theories, methods and research techniques on highly complex technical problems.
5. Analyses equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results.
6. Analyses and advises on the selection and application of reliable components.
7. Reviews vendor support for development and manufacturing activities.
8. Executes projects from design through start-up, debug and acceptance.
9. Creates both progress and technical reports dealing with assigned projects.
10. Demonstrates industry knowledge to assist in new product development.

| Qualifications: | The incumbent must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the duties and responsibilities.
The preferred incumbent for this position would have an interest or aptitude in music.
• BSEE or MSEE, 10+ yrs Audio / Video hardware design
• 5+ yrs team management
• Project management
• Consumer electronics
• Home entertainment, automation
• Dolby, dts, HDMI, Ethernet, streaming, wireless, WiFi, ZigBee, IR, infrared, MPEG, codecs, DSP
FPGA experience strongly desired
